Audience blogs

Before shutdown, the cinema sector across NI was booming. With massive hits like Parasite and Fleabag (NT Live) storming the screens, audiences were also enjoying amazing local films like The Dig and Bump Along the Way in towns and cities right across the country. A lot has happened since then, and we understand that audiences may be nervous to return to the cinema so we are here to signpost you to the right information to make your visit as easy as possible.

To help you get a feel for what to expect on your return to your favourite movie palace, we asked some friends of the Hub to visit local cinemas and share their experiences with us:

Local writer Jan Carson visited Strand Arts Centre, Queen’s Film Theatre and Movie House Cityside.

Arts man about town Andrew Moore took in an old favourite at Strand Arts Centre

We'll have more blogs and videos coming soon.

We encourage everyone to share their cinematic experiences via social media using #BackToCinemaNI and we’ll share out.
See what others are sharing on Instagram, Facebook and  Twitter.

Audience and staff safety remains paramount in all our member venues, so we strongly encourage you to read the safety notices on each venues own website before your visit to see their own safety precautions:
