The Black Box is a vibrant arts venue in the centre of Belfast's Cathedral Quarter, with a large main room and the Green Room. Events cover visual arts, music, comedy, cabaret, theatre and all points in between!
You might not know that the Black Box is also a charity that works to remove barriers so everyone can access, engage and enjoy the Arts.
We do this by providing affordable room hire, hosting many free or low-cost events and opening up vital links to people who are socially isolated through outreach work and an inclusive programme.
Besides operating the Black Moon Film Club, a film club by and for adults with learning disabilities, we host screenings of documentary films, experimental films, foreign language films, and cult favourites. We play a key role in the Belfast Film Festival, providing a venue for festival screenings. We also host events like the Film Devour Short Film Festival, a platform for local filmmakers, writers and actors to screen their films, network and coordinate ideas. And we partner with organisations like Second Chance Cinema and WANDA to bring diverse films to audiences in our Green Room.
