New Notions is a pop up cinema and story studio.

We create live cinema events centred around factual content - documentary, essay, archive film and so on. This consists mostly of conversations extended from feature documentaries.

We've released a feature-length documentary, funded in part by Northern Ireland Screen, called Boat Builders.  It blended film archive material, live storytelling and newly filmed interviews to bring Belfast’s shipyard to life. We've organised screenings and discussions: Brexitannia, with Director Timothy George Kelly, and Citizen Jane, with the Save Cathedral Quarter Campaign. And we participated in Film Hub NI's Cinema Day,  producing and screening ’Girl Talk, Boy Talk’, a curated selection of archive film from RTE and BBC, all about being 'young, dumb and sometimes under the thumb.'
