Since opening its’ doors in 2009, the award-winning Newcastle Community Cinema has been committed to delivering a rich, varied & exciting programme of film old and new, to local movie lovers, film fans & cinephiles. In its lifespan, the exclusively volunteer-run NCC has screened over 300 titles, including outdoor and drive-in movies; event and themed film screenings; plus extended film seasons, double & triple bills - not to mention the annual weekend-long Full Moon Film Festival.

We firmly believe in enjoying film the way it’s supposed to be seen – on the Big Screen. The current monthly programme at NCC follows a structure of 5 regular genre-led screenings:
Fright Night Friday – the first Friday of every month. 8pm
Hand picked cuts of the finest in global horror, thrillers & “popcorn spillers”.
NCC-Classic – the 2nd Sunday of every month. 7pm
Timeless performances, Box Office Gold & Cult favourites.
NCC – World – the 2nd Tuesday of every month. 8pm
Our choice of the very best in contemporary worldwide film & documentary.
NCC – Select – the last Saturday of every month. 8pm
The hottest Festival films, new indie features & recent must-see movies.
NCC – Kids – the last Sunday of every month. 2pm
Unforgettable movies old & new, especially for the young, & the young-at-heart!
Our home, St Mary’s Hall, affords NCC the space to deliver a complete cinematic experience, with big screen, surround sound, cinema-style seating, and plenty of room for our audiences. It also importantly acts as a community venue beyond its cinema functions – a place where local groups, clubs, teams, and classes can meet and use the facilities as well.
