Second Chance Cinema is a Belfast based film club specialising in documentary film.

Second Chance Cinema seeks to return movie-going to the heart of Ormeau Road community life. Through pop-up cinema weekends and one-off events we aim to a create a welcoming atmosphere where audiences have the opportunity to see films they might have missed as well as some they have never heard of.

Second Chance Cinema creates a vibrant and new place for film lovers and filmmakers alike, to watch, talk about and present films of all kinds; local and international, long and short, fiction and documentary, live action and animated.

Our Troubled: Films from the Archive season featured films made during or about the Troubles, and was presented in collaboration with the Black Box. Our Hear Her Voice Film Series was a curated selection of films chosen in response to the Ulster Museum’s year-long celebration of women from the museum's collections.

We have collaborated with and programmed for a wide range of festivals and organisations in Northern Ireland including Amnesty International, the Belfast Film Festival, the Black Box, Brazille Cineclub, Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, the Centre for Documentary Research, Household, Northern Ireland Science Festival, Northern Ireland Human Rights Festival, the Ulster Museum and the Queen’s Film Theatre.
