Bloodyminded (Interactive event)

4:20 PM 14th October 2018 Queen's Film Theatre

The morality of war past and present is explored in Bloodyminded: the UK’s first interactive live streamed feature film, shot in a single take and broadcast to cinemas and online - once and once only.

SJ breaks into an army base to bury the ashes of her Great-grandfather, a conscientious objector during World War One. Inside, surrounded by soldiers and the ghosts of past wars, she finds a place where her certainty begins to falter.

Part of 14-18 NOW, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary, Bloodyminded is the UK's first interactive live streamed feature film, shot in a single take and broadcast to cinemas and online - once and once only. Guided by the narrator, we are asked to consider our own relationship with violence - as individuals and as members of a society that continues to wage wars on our behalf.

Four-times BAFTA nominated artist group Blast Theory are pioneers of interactive art. They have shown work at Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival and the Venice Biennale.

Bloodyminded is a new work by Blast Theory, co-commissioned by 14-18 NOW: WW1 Centenary Art Commissions and by Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts. Bloodyminded has been created with the support of the Europe for Citizens Programme of the European Union, The Space and Polden-Puckham. Blast Theory is thrilled to have Pathfinder International as Media Partner.
