The Goonies

1:30 PM 21st September 2019 Rosemary Street Masonic Hall

Welcome to Culture Day Saturday Film Club.

Come and watch family favourite, The Goonies, in the atmospheric surrounds of the Masonic Hall on Rosemary Street. Opening it's doors to the public for the first time!

Adapted by Chris Columbus from a story by Steven Spielberg, the film follows a group of misfit kids as they search for buried treasure in a subterranean cavern. Here they cross the path of lady criminal Mama Fratelli and her outlaw brood. Fortunately, the kids manage to befriend Fratelli’s hideously deformed (but soft-hearted) son, who comes to their rescue.

The Goonies has every imaginable fun house flourish. It has crooks, bats, cobwebs, skeletons, a lovable monster, an underground grotto and a treasure hidden by some of the most considerate, clue-loving pirates who ever lived.

Dir: Richard Donner, USA, 1985, 109 mins, 12+
