Regional applications are now open for the BFI FAN Film Exhibition Fund which was founded to help restart the independent film exhibition sector by supporting screening activity which engages in-person audiences with British, independent and international film.
As independent cinemas continue to return to screening after the Covid-19 hiatus, Film Hub NI are again offering FAN members the opportunity to apply for funds for the support of grassroots UK film culture. This fund has been created with the help of the National Lottery.
The focus of the 2022/23 scheme will be to support exhibitors and continue to audience development activity in line with FAN objectives, programming British, independent and international film, and delivering screenings.
Activity can vary in length, scale and format. Film Hub NI Members can submit proposals for up to £3,000 and support can cover programming, marketing and associated costs.
Support of up to £3,000 is available and the fund is open to a variety of organisations screening film in the region. Screening programmes supported in this round of funding should take place between April 2022 to December 2022.
All proposals must be able to set out how they will address the BFI Diversity Standards and sign up to the BFI Anti-Bullying and Harassment Principles, as well as demonstrate how they will operate safely during Covid-19; reference can be made to the UKCA’s Cinemas – keeping workers and customers safe during Covid-19 Guidelines.
